New Features and FUNCTIONALiTY

Topological optimization of structures:

• New formulation of the problem - minimizing mass with stress limitation;

• Topological optimization for rod structures is added;

• Additional technological limitations are added: “maximum thickness”, “symmetry”, “stamping”;

• Accounting for volume (for example, gravity) and surface forces (for example, pressure on the surface of solid-FE) is implemented


Analysis:

• Eigen frequencies of preloaded structures with force factors obtained from nonlinear analysis;

• Forced oscillations calculation by mode decomposition of preloaded structures;

• New features for checking of load capacity of steel structural elements. The ultimate flexibility of the element is calculated automatically;

• A design element is allowed to have disconnected rods;

• Results color maps of utilization factors.

• Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) Analysis - structural analysis takes into account pressure and / or temperature fields from FGA

 

Steady state thermal analysis:

• New boundary conditions of the following types: "Flow velocity", "Heat flow", "Radiation", "Convection»;

• Several solver types are now available


Electromagnetic field calculations:

• New solvers for magnetostatics and electrostatics are available

 

CUDA technology for the following types of calculations is implemented:

• static calculation

• buckling calculations

• calculation of natural frequencies

 

Calculations of RC constructions:

• The verification and design calculation of transverse reinforcement of RC plates is implemented. Corresponding changes are made in the RC Design Elements dialog box;

• Code calculation of for transverse reinforcement is implemented;

• Transverse reinforcement plates on the reinforcement map is added

 

For shell FE:

• The calculation of transverse forces in the plates

• Calculation of shear transverse stresses and strains for plates (MITC type)

• New command - draw a rectangular plate with a hole.

 

New object for calculation models:

• «Pipeline valve» - the command allows you to specify the weight and location of the valve to take into account its mass-inertial characteristics.

 

Some new node commands:

• Projection

• Node groups connection by joint displacements

• Rod distributed loads retaining by rod division.

 

Data import:

• BDF|DAT files import from a command line;

• Second order prisms and pyramids import from BDF|DAT

 

Selection/Edit operations:

• A new algorithm for the "select/unselect" by a frame;

• «Select/unselect» by an arbitrary contour;

• «Select/unselect» by a normal (for shells and solids);

• Groups of selection

"Edit" operation: captures objects without first selecting them; copies objects with pressed Shift key; - can move objects to a certain user defined distance.

 

Interface

The commands "Rod by Nodes" and "Rod by Length and Angle" were combined. Additionally, it is possible to draw parallel and perpendicular rods to previously selected ones.

Material properties for fatigue fracture mechanics (constants C and n)

• The whole model selection Ctrl + A

APM Studio

• Boundary conditions generation (the last step in FE-model creation) is significantly accelerated

• Nonlinear analysis (geometric nonlinearity, contact interaction) is added

• Built-in CUDA solvers

• STEP 242 protocol is supported for import.

• A special mode “Immersion” for the FE mesh generation is added. The mode is necessary for the automatic “immersion” of the part in the environment and the joint mesh for the part and the medium generation (in the APM FGA mode)

Fluid and Gas Analysis

• The "Flow" boundary condition has been implemented, which is presented in the variants "volume flow" or "mass flow" and can be specified on the surface via specific or total values.

• "Moving wall" functionality in the boundary condition "Velocity" is implemented.

• "Normal / relative conditions" are implemented.

• Built-in drawing of vector maps on the nodes of the calculated model.

• The possibility of taking into account the previously obtained results as initial data for a new conducted analysis of the Navier-Stokes flows
